This bathroom in Eltham London was relatively small but luckily the toilet is situated in a separate room so all we had to worry about making space for was the shower and basin unit.
The customer wanted a walk in shower so we went for a low profile shower tray as they look really good and a simple plain shower screen. The plain shower screens are always the best as they’re so much easier to clean and maintain. Most of them come with a special resin coating so the water glides off as opposed to sticking to the glass staining it.
Mid Project Progress
You can see the bathroom really starting to take shape here. The shower tray is in and all of the first fix plumbing has been completed.
The tiles make all the difference to the final finish and look of the overall bathroom. They really do make or break a bathroom design. The tile grouting still needs to be done but after that then it’s time for the second fix.
This is the part that all customers love. When the tiles have been grouted, the silicone run in all of the corners and the second fix items like the basin unit, taps, shower valves and shower screens have all been installed.
Sometimes it looks so good that you don’t actually want to use it! It’s like a showroom finish..
Once the second fix has been installed there are still some finishing touches that need to be done.
The towel rail needs to be filled and bled. The shower head and rail need to be adjusted accordingly and tested.
The taps needs to be working properly. This is where we install any delicate items such as a mirror cabinet or toilet roll holder or soap dish.
What do you think of the final finish? We love it and the customer loves it too which is the most important thing.
