What Is A Wetroom?
A wetroom is essentially a shower room without the traditional shower tray and sometimes even with no shower screen. The tray is replaced with a fully tiled shower area with an integrated shower waste.
Can I Have A Wetroom?
A wetroom can be installed and fitted in most situations, yes but the main points that you need to consider are drainage and waterproofing.
You need the correct gradient along the floor to channel the water in to the drain and then through the waste in your soil stack.
The area needs to be tanked and waterproofed adequately to ensure that there are no leaks. The surrounding walls and floor need to be primed and then covered with a membrane which is then tiled over.
Is Having A Wetroom Worth It?
It all depends on the look that you want to achieve as there are advantages and disadvantages of installing a wetroom.
Large rooms look very stylish when a new wetroom is installed but if you ever choose to sell your property certain buyers want at least one bath in the household.
It is great for small bathrooms as more space is created by removing the need for a bath. You need to be careful that the water doesn’t spray the towels or loo roll as it’s a confined space.
How Much Does A New Wetroom Installation Cost?
Installing a wetroom on its own is difficult to price as normally the entire bathroom needs to be renovated at the same time. If you live in Dartford, Bexley or Bexleyheath then please contact us for a free non-obligation quote.
